Ibn Tawus, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Those who speak about predestination speak without knowledge. Speaking about predestination—he said: Iblis met ‘Isa ibn Maryam, peace be upon him, and said to him: Do you not know that only what is written in your destiny will happen? Go to the top of the mountain and throw yourself down from there, and then see whether you remain alive or not. So ‘Isa, peace be upon him, said: “Allah says: It is not appropriate for a servant to test Me; I do whatever I will.”
