It is narrated from Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said, "The livestock have perished and the roads are blocked, so pray to Allah (for rain)." Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: It rained continuously from one Friday to the next. Then the same man came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! The houses have collapsed, the roads have been cut off, and the livestock have been destroyed (due to the abundance of water)." So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up and prayed: "O Allah! Let the rain fall on the tops of the mountains, on the hills, in the valleys, and in the gardens." (As a result of the supplication) the clouds parted from Madinah as if a cloth had been torn into pieces.
