Hadith 1321

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَجِيدِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ: نَفَقَةُ الْمُطَلَّقَةِ مَا لَمْ تَحْرُمْ فَإِذَا حَرُمَتْ فَمَتَاعٌ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ.
It is narrated from Abu al-Zubair that Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The divorced woman is entitled to maintenance as long as she is not forbidden (i.e., as long as the irrevocable divorce has not occurred), and when she becomes forbidden (i.e., when three divorces have taken place), then she should be provided for in a good manner.
