Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am leaving among you two important things, one of which is greater than the other; one is the Book of Allah, which is a rope hanging from the sky to the earth, and the other is my Ahl al-Bayt. These two things will not separate from each other until they come to me at the Pond of Kawthar.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a man from Najran came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He was wearing a gold ring. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned away from him and did not ask him anything. That man went back to his wife and told her the whole incident. She said, "Surely there is some matter concerning you. Go again to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)." So he again presented himself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and this time, before going, he took off his ring and the cloak he was wearing. This time, when he sought permission, he was granted permission. When he greeted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied to his greeting. He said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), when I first came to you, you turned away from me?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "At that time, there was a spark of the fire of Hell in your hand." He said, "O Messenger of Allah! Then I have brought many sparks," for in fact, he had brought a lot of jewelry from Bahrain. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You have brought that which can benefit us only as much as the stones of a stony land can benefit us. However, this is merely the provision of worldly life." Then he said, "O Messenger of Allah! Please make an excuse for me before your companions so that they do not think that you are displeased with me for some reason." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and made an excuse for him, and informed the people that his turning away was due to his gold ring.

I passed by a certain place where a man was praying with great humility and devotion in an excellent manner." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go and kill him." Hazrat Siddiq Akbar went, but when he saw him in the same previous state, killing him became burdensome for him, so he returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) then said to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), "You go and kill him." He went and also saw him in the same state as Hazrat Siddiq Akbar had seen, so killing him also became burdensome for him, and he too returned and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I saw him praying with such humility that I did not like to kill him." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "You go and kill him." He went but did not find that man anywhere. He returned and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I did not find that man." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He and his companions will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats, and they will leave the religion just as an arrow leaves the prey and does not return to it, until the arrow returns to its quiver.
Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) submitted in the presence of the Messenger, "O Messenger of Allah! I have heard so-and-so two men praising and mentioning that you have given them two dinars each." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "But by Allah! That man is not like that. I have given him from ten up to a hundred dinars, yet he neither says this nor praises. Remember! Whoever among you leaves my presence after fulfilling his request is leaving with fire under his arm." Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah! Then why do you give them?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "What can I do? They do not accept anything else, and Allah does not like miserliness for me."

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a person asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), "Who is the best among the people?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "The believer who strives in the way of Allah with his life and wealth." The questioner asked, "Who after him?" He replied, "The believer who lives in any locality, fears Allah, and keeps people safe from his harm."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that we asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), will we see our Lord on the Day of Resurrection?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on the night of the full moon?" We replied, "No, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." He said, "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun when there are no clouds?" We replied, "No." He said, "Then you will see your Lord in the same way."
Allah will gather the people on a mound on the Day of Resurrection and will say, 'Whoever used to worship something, let him follow it.' Those who used to worship the sun will follow it and fall into Hell. Those who used to worship the moon will follow it and fall into Hell. Those who used to worship idols will follow them and fall into Hell. Thus, whoever worshipped anything other than Allah will follow it and fall into Hell, and only the Muslims will remain, and among them will be the hypocrites of this Ummah and some people of the Book, whose small number the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) indicated with his hand.
Then Allah, the Exalted, will come to them and say, 'Why do you not go after those things you used to worship?' They will say, 'We worshipped Allah and we have not yet seen Him.' Then the Shin will be uncovered, and every person who used to prostrate to Allah will fall in prostration, but the one who used to prostrate for show and fame will fall on his back. Then the bridge (Sirat) will be set up over the back of Hell, and on both sides of it the noble Prophets (peace be upon them) will be saying, 'O Allah! Grant safety, grant safety.' It will be a slippery place, with hooks and thorns, and thorny bushes called "Sa'dan" that grow in Najd. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) described its sign and said, "I and my Ummah will be the first to cross it." Some people will cross it like lightning, some like the wind, and some like fast horses. Some will cross safely and be saved, some will be wounded, and some will fall into Hell.
When they have crossed it, they will cry out intensely to Allah about their brothers who have fallen into Hell, saying, "O our Lord! We used to perform jihad, Hajj, and Umrah together; today we are saved, so how were they destroyed?" Allah, the Exalted, will say, "See, whoever has faith in his heart equal to a dinar, take him out of Hell." So they will take them out. Then Allah will say, "Whoever has faith in his heart equal to a qirat, take him out of Hell." So they will take them out. Then Allah will say, "Whoever has faith in his heart equal to a mustard seed, take him out of Hell." So they will take them out.
Then Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Between me and you is the Book of Allah." (The narrator says, "I think by this he meant the verse: 'If there is even the weight of a mustard seed of good, We will bring it forth, and We are sufficient as Reckoners.'") Then they will be taken out of Hell and dipped into the "River of Life," and they will grow as a seed grows in the flow of a flood. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Just consider, a tree is first green, then it turns yellow," or he said something similar. At this, a man said, "It seems as if the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to graze goats?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes, I used to graze goats."
Hadith 11128
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man will enter Paradise who never performed any good deed. He is the one who, during his terminal illness, instructed his family that when I die, burn me in fire, crush my ashes, and scatter half of them in the sea and half on land. Allah commanded the land and the sea, and they gathered all his particles together. Allah asked him: Why did you do this? He replied: Out of fear of You. Because of this, Allah forgave him.

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Hearts are of four types: the Ajrad heart, meaning an empty heart in which a lamp can be lit; the Aghlaf heart, meaning a heart covered with veils; the Mankus heart, meaning an inverted heart; and the Musfah heart, meaning a barren plain. The Ajrad heart is the heart of a Muslim, whose lamp is its light. The Aghlaf heart is the heart of a disbeliever. The Mankus heart is the heart of a hypocrite, who, after recognizing the truth, denies it. The Musfah heart is the heart in which there is both faith and hypocrisy. The example of faith in it is like greenery that grows with good and pure water, and the example of hypocrisy is like a wound in which pus and blood increase. Now, whichever of the two becomes dominant, its effect prevails over it.
Hadith 11130
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The Day of Judgment will not be established until a man from my Ahl al-Bayt, with a broad forehead and a prominent nose, becomes the caliph. He will fill the earth with justice and fairness just as it was previously filled with oppression and injustice, and he will remain for seven years.

The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: In that case, we will supplicate abundantly. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah is even more abundant.

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) addressed the people and said: Allah Almighty gave one of His servants the choice between the world and coming to Him, and that servant chose to go to Allah. Upon hearing this, Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) began to weep. We were greatly surprised at his weeping, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had merely informed about a man; what was there to cry about? But later it became clear that by "servant" the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant himself, and it became evident that Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) was the most knowledgeable among us. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In terms of companionship and financial support, the person who has done the greatest favors to me among the people is Abu Bakr. If I were to take anyone as a close friend (khalil) other than my Lord, I would have taken Abu Bakr, but Islamic brotherhood and affection are sufficient. And except for Abu Bakr's door, all other doors opening into the mosque should be closed. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
Hadith 11135
Yunus narrated to us, Fulayh narrated to us, from Salim Abu al-Nadr, from Ubayd ibn Hunayn, and Busr ibn Sa'id, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, delivered a sermon and mentioned the hadith.
Hadith 11136
Narrated to us Suraij, narrated to us Fulayh, from Abu al-Nadr, from Ubayd ibn Hunayn, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, that he narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, addressed the people, and mentioned the hadith.
Hadith 11137
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Amrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) was informed about a funeral. When he arrived, people had already settled in their places. Seeing him, people began to move from their spots and some stood up so that he could sit in their place. But he said, "No, I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that the best gathering is the one which is more spacious." Then he went and sat in a spacious place in another corner.

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) once saying from this pulpit: "What is the matter with people who go around saying that the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) kinship will not benefit people? By Allah! My kinship will remain connected in both this world and the Hereafter. And O people! I will wait for you at the Hawd (Pond) of Kawthar. When you reach there, one man will say, 'O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so,' and another will say, 'I am so-and-so, son of so-and-so.' I will reply to them, 'I have recognized your lineage, but after me, you invented innovations in the religion and turned back on your heels.'"

Saeed bin Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) became ill, so Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in prayer. At the beginning of the prayer, when going into ruku, he said the takbeer aloud, also when saying "Sami Allahu liman hamidah," when raising his head from prostration and going into prostration, and when standing up between the two rak'ahs, he said the takbeer aloud, and in this way he completed his prayer. After the prayer, someone said to him that people have differed regarding your prayer. Upon this, he stood near the pulpit and said, "By Allah, I do not care whether your prayers are different from this or not. I have seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) praying in this manner."
Hadith 11141
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) and Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whatever worry, hardship, grief, illness, or sorrow befalls a Muslim, even the prick of a thorn that hurts him, Allah expiates his sins through it.
Hadith 11142
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "You should follow me, those who come after you will follow you, because people will keep staying behind until Allah will leave them behind."
