On that day, I went to Hazrat Aisha's house and asked her, "What has happened to the people that they are praying at this time?" She pointed her head towards the sky. I asked, "Has some sign appeared?" She said, "Yes." On this occasion, the Prophet (peace be upon him) stood for a long time in prayer until I fainted. I took a water-skin that was beside me and began to pour water over my head. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) finished the prayer with salam, the solar eclipse had ended. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) delivered a sermon, and after praising and glorifying Allah, he said, "After praise and salutation! Today, at this place, I have seen things that I had never seen before, even Paradise and Hell. It has been revealed to me that you people will be subjected to a trial in your graves equal to or close to the trial of the Dajjal. Angels will come to you and ask, 'What do you know about this man?' So the believer will reply, 'He was Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), and he came to us with clear miracles and guidance. We responded to his call and followed him (three times).' It will be said to him, 'We knew that you believed in this, so sleep in peace!' And as for the hypocrite, he will say, 'I do not know. I used to hear people saying something, so I said the same.'"

It is narrated from Hazrat Asma that when I was married to Hazrat Zubair, he owned nothing on the face of the earth except his horse; he had no wealth, slave, or anything else in his possession. I used to prepare fodder for his horse, provide for its needs, and take care of it. Similarly, I would break date stones for his camel, prepare its fodder, give it water, sew his bucket, and knead flour. I could not bake bread well, so some of my Ansari neighbor women would bake bread for me; they were true friends. Remember, I used to bring the date stones from the land of Hazrat Zubair, which the Prophet (peace be upon him) later granted him as a fief. I would carry them on my head, and that land was about two-thirds of a farsakh from our house. One day, I was coming from there with a bundle of date stones on my head when I met the Prophet (peace be upon him) on the way; some companions were also with him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) called me and made his camel kneel so that I could ride behind him, but I felt shy to go with men and remembered Zubair and his sense of honor, for he was a very honorable man. The Prophet (peace be upon him) sensed that I was feeling shy, so he moved ahead. When I reached home, I mentioned to Zubair that today I met the Prophet (peace be upon him); I had a bundle of date stones on my head, and some companions were with him. The Prophet (peace be upon him) made his camel kneel so that I could ride, but I felt shy and also thought of your sense of honor. He said, "By Allah, your carrying the bundle of date stones is harder on me than you riding with the Prophet (peace be upon him)." Eventually, Abu Bakr sent me a servant after a short time, and I was relieved of taking care of the horse, and it felt as if he had set me free.

It is narrated from Hazrat Asma that she was expecting the birth of Abdullah bin Zubair in Makkah Mukarramah. She says that when I left Makkah Mukarramah, I was full-term. When I reached Madinah Munawwarah and stayed in Quba, I gave birth to Abdullah there. Then I took him to the service of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and placed him in his lap. The Prophet (peace be upon him) called for a date, chewed it, and put his saliva into the child's mouth. Thus, the very first thing that entered his stomach was the saliva of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave him tahneek with the date and prayed for blessings for him. And he was the first child born to the Muslims in Madinah Munawwarah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Asma that once my mother came during the time of the treaty with the Quraysh. At that time, she was a polytheist and in need. I asked the Prophet (peace be upon him), "Can I maintain ties of kinship with her?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Yes, maintain ties of kinship with your mother."

It is narrated from Abdullah, who was the freed slave of Hazrat Asma, that once Hazrat Asma camped near the house of Muzdalifah and asked, "Son, has the moon set?" It was the night of Muzdalifah and she was praying. I said, "Not yet." She continued to pray for a while longer, then asked, "Son, has the moon disappeared?" By that time, the moon had set, so I said, "Yes!" She said, "Then depart." So we set out from there, and upon reaching Mina, performed the stoning of Jamrah Aqabah, and after reaching our tent, offered the Fajr prayer. I said to her, "We left Muzdalifah while it was still dark." She replied, "Not at all, son. The Prophet (peace be upon him) has given permission for women to depart early."

Muslim says that I asked Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) about Hajj Tamattu', so he permitted it, while Ibn Zubair used to prohibit it. Ibn Abbas said that only the mother of Ibn Zubair tells that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted it; you should go and ask her. We went to her; she was a heavy-bodied, blind woman, and she said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) permitted it.

In fact, the men's lower garments were short, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) disliked that women's gaze might fall upon the men's private parts, and at that time, people's lower garments were these sheets (they did not have trousers).
