It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, the speakers of the Ansar stood up. Among them, someone was saying, "O group of Muhajireen! Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed any one of you to a task or position, he would also include one man from among us. Therefore, our opinion is that there should be two leaders for this government: one from among you and one from among us." And the speakers of the Ansar kept repeating this matter. Upon this, Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said, "The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was from among the Muhajireen, therefore the ruler will also be from among the Muhajireen. We will be his helpers, just as we were the helpers of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)." Then Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and said, "O group of Ansar! May Allah reward you with goodness on behalf of this tribe and keep your spokesman steadfast." Then he said, "By Allah! If you had chosen any other way besides this, we would not have agreed with you."

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah Munawwarah, I was presented to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was pleased to see me. The people said, "O Messenger of Allah! This boy from Banu Najjar has memorized several surahs of the Qur'an that have been revealed to you." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was surprised and said, "Zaid! Learn the script of the Jews, for by Allah, I do not trust the Jews regarding my letters." So I began to learn their writing, and not even fifteen days had passed before I had mastered it. I used to read their letters to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would reply, I would write it.

Hadith 21622
Someone asked Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) about the recitation in the Zuhr and Asr prayers, so he replied that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to prolong the standing in them and would move his lips.
Hadith 21623
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he recited Surah Najm before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform sajdah (prostration).

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Apart from the obligatory prayers, performing other prayers at home is the most virtuous for a person.
Hadith 21625
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "May Allah's curse be upon the Jews, for they made the graves of their prophets places of prostration."
Hadith 21626
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared "Umari" (a house that is handed over to someone for a lifetime) to be the right of the heir.
Hadith 21627
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) permitted in "Bay' Araya" that it may be sold by estimation and measurement. Benefit: For clarification of Bay' Araya, see Hadith number (4490).
Hadith 21628
Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) says that may Allah forgive Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him), by Allah! I know this hadith better than him. Actually, once two men came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) while fighting, so the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If this is your condition, then do not give land on rent. From this, Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) only heard this much that land should not be given on rent.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that when Surah Nasr was revealed to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited it completely to the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) and said: "All people are on one side and I and my companions (may Allah be pleased with them) are on one scale." And he said: "After the conquest of Makkah, migration is no longer obligatory, but the reward of jihad and intention remains." Upon hearing this hadith, Marwan denied it. At that time, Hazrat Rafi bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) were also present, who were sitting with Marwan on his throne. Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "If these two wish, they can narrate this hadith to you, but one of them fears that you will take away the leadership of his tribe from him, and the other fears that you will withhold the charity from him." Upon this, both of them remained silent, and Marwan picked up a whip to strike Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him). Seeing this, both of them said: "He is speaking the truth." Benefit: The writer does not feel at ease regarding the authenticity of this narration.

After a few days, the voice of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was not heard, so people thought that perhaps the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had fallen asleep. Therefore, some people went near and started coughing so that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come out. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I was continuously observing your action until I feared that this prayer (Tahajjud) might become obligatory upon you, because if this prayer becomes obligatory upon you, you will not be able to adhere to it. Therefore, O people! Pray in your homes, for apart from the obligatory prayers, praying other prayers at home is the best for a person."

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that when we were preparing the copies of the Mushaf, I could not find one verse of Surah Ahzab among them which I used to hear the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) recite. I searched for it and found it only with Hazrat Khuzaymah bin Thabit Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), whose testimony the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had considered equal to the testimony of two men. And that verse was: "Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah."
Hadith 21641
Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) or Hazrat Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) once said to Marwan, "I see that you have led the Maghrib prayer very briefly. I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) reciting Surah Al-A'raf in the Maghrib prayer."
Hadith 21642
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: After eating something cooked on fire, perform fresh ablution.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent a messenger to me at the time of Yamama and called me. When I arrived, Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) was also sitting there. Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me, "O Zaid bin Thabit! You are a wise young man, and we do not suspect you of anything. You used to write down revelation during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Gather the Qur'an by searching for it and compile it in one place." Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) says, "By Allah! If they had ordered me to move a mountain from its place, it would not have been heavier for me than this command to compile the Qur'an. I said to them, 'Do you want to do something which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not do?' Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, 'By Allah! There is goodness in it.' Then they kept insisting on me until Allah opened my heart for the task, just as He had opened the hearts of Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) and Farooq Azam (may Allah be pleased with him)."
Hadith 21645

Ibn Daylami (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I went to meet Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Abu'l-Mundhir! Some doubts about predestination have arisen in my heart. Please narrate to me a hadith by the blessing of which these doubts may be removed from my heart." He replied, "If Allah were to punish all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, He would not be unjust to them. And if He were to have mercy on them, His mercy would be greater than their deeds. And if you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud in the way of Allah, Allah would not accept it from you until you believe in predestination completely, and until you are certain that whatever has come to you could not have missed you, and whatever has missed you could not have come to you. If you die on any belief other than this, you will enter Hell." Then I went to Hazrat Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he gave me the same answer. Then I went to Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), and he also gave me the same answer. Then I went to Hazrat Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), and he also gave me the same answer and narrated it from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 21654
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am leaving among you two deputies; one is the Book of Allah, which is a rope hanging between the heavens and the earth, and the other is my Ahl al-Bayt. And these two things will never be separated until they come to me at the Pond of Kawthar.
Hadith 21655
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After eating something cooked on fire, perform fresh ablution.
