Hadith 21576
Sharjeel says that once I caught a bird in the market that was like a shrike. Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) saw it, took it from my hand and set it free (and it flew away), and said: Do you not know that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has declared the area between the two boundaries of Madinah Munawwarah as sacred?

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I am leaving among you two deputies, one is the Book of Allah, which is a rope hanging between the sky and the earth, and the other is my Ahl al-Bayt. And these two things will never be separated until they come to me at the Pond of Kawthar.
Hadith 21579
Once, Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) went to meet Hazrat Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him). He narrated a hadith to him. Hazrat Amir Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) ordered a man to write it down, but Hazrat Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade writing down any of his hadith. So, he erased it.
Hadith 21580
Matlab bin Abdullah says that once there was a difference of opinion among some people regarding recitation in the Zuhr and Asr prayers, so they sent a man to Kharijah bin Zaid (may Allah have mercy on him) to ask about this issue. He narrated from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to stand for a long time and would keep moving his lips. I think this could only be because of recitation, so I also recite (in these prayers).

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made a tent out of a mat in the mosque and prayed in it for several nights, until people also began to gather. After a few days, the voice of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was not heard, so people thought that perhaps the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had fallen asleep. Therefore, some people went near and started coughing so that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would come out. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: I was continuously observing your action until I feared that this prayer (Tahajjud) might become obligatory upon you, because if this prayer became obligatory upon you, you would not be able to adhere to it. Therefore, O people! Pray in your homes, for apart from the obligatory prayers, praying other prayers at home is the best for a person.

Some doubts about predestination have arisen in my heart. Please narrate to me a hadith by the blessing of which these doubts may be removed from my heart." He replied, "If Allah were to punish all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, He would not be unjust to them. And if He were to have mercy on them, His mercy would be greater than their deeds. And if you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud in the way of Allah, Allah would not accept it from you until you believe in predestination completely, and until you are certain that whatever has come to you could not have missed you, and whatever has missed you could not have come to you. If you die holding any other belief than this, you will enter Hell." Then I went to Hazrat Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he gave me the same answer. Aban bin Uthman (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) came out from Marwan at midday. We began to say among ourselves that if Marwan has called him at this time, then surely it must have been to ask something. So I got up and went to him and asked him this very question. He replied, "Yes! He had asked me about some matters which I had heard from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'May Allah keep fresh and flourishing the person who hears a hadith from us, remembers it, and conveys it to others, for many people who carry knowledge of fiqh are not themselves jurists, but they convey it to those who are more knowledgeable and understanding than themselves.' And he said: 'Whoever's concern is the Hereafter, Allah gathers his affairs for him, enriches his heart, and the world comes to him humbled. And whoever's intention is the world, Allah scatters his affairs, places poverty before his eyes, and he only gets from the world what has been decreed for him.' And we asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) about the middle prayer (Salat al-Wusta), and the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'It is the Zuhr prayer.'"
Hadith 21591
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that I recited Surah Najm before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform sajdah (prostration).
Hadith 21592
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer of fear in a region of Banu Sulaym called "Dhi Qarad." The people formed two rows behind the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): one row stood facing the enemy, and one row stood behind the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for prayer. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led these people in one rak'ah, then these people walked backwards to the place of those standing before the enemy, and those people came and stood behind the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in the second rak'ah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were commanded to say Subhan Allah thirty-three times, Alhamdulillah thirty-three times, and Allahu Akbar thirty-four times after every obligatory prayer. Then an Ansari saw a dream in which someone asked him, "Did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) command you to recite these tasbihat in this way after every prayer?" He replied, "Yes!" The person said, "Recite them twenty-five times each, and add twenty-five times La ilaha illallah to them." When morning came, he mentioned this dream to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do it in this way."

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that I used to write down revelation for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). (One day, I was sitting beside the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when revelation began to descend and tranquility started to prevail. At that time, the thigh of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was upon my thigh. By Allah! I have never felt anything heavier than that. Then, when this state ended,) the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said (to me), "Zaid! Write." (I picked up a shoulder blade and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Write this verse:") "Those among the Muslims who sit back, not engaging in jihad, and those who strive in the way of Allah are not equal." (I wrote it down.) Hazrat Abdullah bin Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) heard this verse and came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I love to strive in the way of Allah, but my disability is before you and I have lost my sight. O Messenger of Allah! What about the person who cannot participate in jihad, such as the blind, etc.? What should he do?" (By Allah! He had not yet finished his words when tranquility again descended upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his thigh came upon my thigh,) and its weight was so much on me that I feared it would break (until that state ended), and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Write: 'Those among the Muslims who sit back, except those who are disabled and compelled, and those who strive in the way of Allah are not equal.'"

It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made a tent out of a mat in the mosque and prayed in it for several nights, until people also began to gather. After a few days, the voice of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was not heard, so people thought that perhaps the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had fallen asleep. Therefore, some people went near and started coughing so that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come out. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "I was continuously observing your action until I feared that this prayer (Tahajjud) might become obligatory upon you, because if this prayer becomes obligatory upon you, you will not be able to adhere to it. Therefore, O people! Pray in your homes, for apart from the obligatory prayers, praying other prayers at home is the best for a person."

Ibn Daylami (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I went to meet Hazrat Ubayy ibn Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) and said, "O Abu'l-Mundhir! Some doubts about predestination have arisen in my heart. Please narrate to me a hadith by the blessing of which these doubts may be removed from my heart." He replied, "If Allah were to punish all the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, even then He would not be unjust to them. And if He were to have mercy on them, His mercy would be greater than their deeds. And if you were to spend gold equal to Mount Uhud in the way of Allah, Allah would not accept it from you until you have complete faith in predestination, and until you are certain that whatever has come to you could not have missed you, and whatever has missed you could not have come to you. If you die holding any belief other than this, you will enter Hell."

Qabeesah bin Dhu’ayb says that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) informed the family of Zubair that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had performed two rak’ahs (as nafl) at their place after the Asr prayer, so they also began to perform these two rak’ahs. When Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) found out, he said, “May Allah forgive Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). We know more about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) than Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). The actual matter is that once some Bedouins came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at noon and sat down to ask questions. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) kept answering them, then performed the Zuhr prayer and did not perform the two sunnah afterwards, and continued explaining issues to them until the time for Asr prayer arrived. After performing the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went home. At that time, he remembered that he had not yet performed the sunnah after Zuhr, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed those two rak’ahs after Asr. May Allah forgive Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). We know more about the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) than Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has prohibited nafl prayers after the Asr prayer.
