Hadith 18387
It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Al-A'la and Surah Al-Ghashiyah in the Eid prayers, and if Eid fell on a Friday, he would recite these two Surahs in both prayers (Eid and Jumu'ah).

When permission was granted and he entered, he caught hold of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and said, "O daughter of Roman! The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) intervened and saved Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). When Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) left, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), teasing Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), said, "Did you see how I saved you from that person?" After a little while, Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) came again, sought permission, and entered. He saw that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was making Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) laugh. Hazrat Siddiq Akbar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Include me in your reconciliation just as you included me in your dispute."

In our gathering, Abu Tha’labah Khushani (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said, “O Basheer Sa’d! Do you remember any hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) regarding the rulers?” Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “I remember the sermon of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).” Hazrat Abu Tha’labah (may Allah be pleased with him) sat down, and Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: ‘Prophethood will remain among you as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then Allah will remove it when He wills to remove it. Then there will be a caliphate on the way of Prophethood, and it will remain as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then Allah will remove it when He wills to remove it. Then there will be biting (oppressive) kingship, and it will remain as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then Allah will remove it when He wills to remove it. Then there will be tyrannical rule, and it will remain as long as Allah wills it to remain. Then Allah will remove it when He wills to remove it. Then there will be a caliphate on the way of Prophethood.’ Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell silent.”
The narrator of the hadith, Habeeb, says: When Umar bin Abdul Aziz was appointed as caliph, Yazid bin Nu’man (may Allah be pleased with him) became his advisor. I wrote this hadith in a letter to Yazid bin Nu’man as a reminder, and at the end I wrote: “I hope that the rule of the Commander of the Faithful has come after the biting and tyrannical rule.” Yazid bin Nu’man presented my letter to the Commander of the Faithful, and after reading it, he became very pleased and happy.

On the way, he took a nap under a tree, and with him was his mount on which his food and drink were placed. When the man woke up, he did not see his mount. He climbed a high hill to look, but did not see the mount. Then he climbed another hill, but still did not see the mount. Then he turned back and suddenly saw his mount, dragging its reins and coming towards him. How happy would he be! But his happiness is not greater than the happiness of Allah when a servant repents before Allah and Allah becomes pleased.
Hadith 18409
It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Al-A'la and Surah Al-Ghashiyah in the Eid prayers, and if Eid fell on a Friday, he would recite these two Surahs in both prayers (Eid and Jumu'ah).

Narrated from Hazrat Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In times past, three men were traveling when it began to rain. The three of them took shelter in a cave on a mountain. A rock fell from above and blocked the entrance of the cave. They said to one another, “By Allah, you will not be saved from here except by expressing the truth. Therefore, let each person present a truthful deed he has done, and pray to Allah.”
After agreeing on this, one man said, “Once I did a good deed. I had some laborers working for me, and I had hired each of them for an agreed wage. One day, a laborer came to me at midday. I hired him for the same wage as those who had been working since morning, and he worked for the rest of the day like the others. When it was time to pay the wages, one of the men said, ‘He only worked from midday, and you are giving him the same wage as me?’ I said to him, ‘Servant of Allah! I have not reduced your right in any way. This is my wealth; I can decide as I wish.’ At this, he became angry and left, even leaving his wage behind. I took his due and put it in a corner of my house. After some time, a calf passed by me, and I bought it with that money. The calf grew and became a whole herd. After some time, the man became very old and came to me to claim his wage. I said, ‘Take these cows and oxen.’ He said, ‘Don’t joke with me, give me my right.’ I replied, ‘I am not joking with you; this is your right. Take these cows and oxen.’ O Allah! If in Your knowledge I did this only out of fear of You, then remove this calamity from us.” By the blessing of his prayer, the rock moved a little.
The second man said, “O Allah! You know that there was a woman who was dearest to me. I tried to seduce her, but she refused unless I gave her one hundred dinars. I managed to collect one hundred dinars and gave them to her. She surrendered herself to me, and when I sat between her legs, she said, ‘Fear Allah, and do not break the seal except with right.’ I immediately stood up and left her the hundred dinars. O Allah! If my action was only out of fear of You, then remove this calamity from us.” The rock moved further, and they began to see outside.
The third man said, “O Allah! You know that my parents were very old. Every evening, I would milk my goats and give them the milk. One day, I was delayed (in returning from the forest), and when I arrived, they were asleep. My wife and children were crying from hunger, but my rule was that I would not give them milk until my parents had drunk. I was perplexed; it did not seem right to wake them, nor did it seem good to leave them hungry and weak until morning. So I stood waiting for them to wake up until morning. O Allah! If in Your knowledge I did this out of fear of You, then remove this calamity from us.” Immediately, the rock opened, the sky became visible to them, and they came out.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him), probably as a marfu' hadith, that a man set out on a journey along a forest path.

It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Every thing has an error except the sword, and for every error there is compensation.

Habib bin Salim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once a man was brought to Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him), whose wife had made it lawful for her husband to benefit from her slave-girl. He said, "I will decide about this matter as the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would have decided. If his wife has permitted him to benefit from her slave-girl, I will give him one hundred lashes, and if she has not permitted, I will stone him to death." It was found that his wife had indeed given him permission, so he gave him one hundred lashes. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
