Amr bin Wahb, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once we were with Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah, may Allah be pleased with him, when someone asked him: "Other than Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq, may Allah be pleased with him, has there been anyone else in this Ummah in whose leadership the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prayer?" He replied: "Yes! Once we were on a journey with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). In the morning, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) knocked on the door of my tent. I understood that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to go to relieve himself, so I went out with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) until we walked far away from the people. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted from his ride and went to relieve himself and disappeared from my sight. Now I could not see the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After a short while, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned and said, 'Mughirah! You also fulfill your need.' I said, 'I do not need to at this time.' The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, 'Do you have water?' I replied, 'Yes!' and went to bring the water skin that was hanging at the back of the saddle. I brought the water to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and kept pouring water. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first washed both hands thoroughly, then washed his face. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tried to roll up his sleeves, but the Syrian cloak that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing had tight sleeves, so they could not be rolled up. Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took both hands out from underneath, washed his face and hands, wiped over the portion of his head equal to the forehead, wiped over his turban, and wiped over his leather socks, and then mounted his ride for the return. When we reached the people, the prayer had already started, and Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Awf, may Allah be pleased with him, had led one rak’ah and was in the second rak’ah. I was about to go and inform him, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped me, and we joined in the rak’ah that we caught, and whatever we missed, we completed (after the salam).
Hadith 18135
It is narrated from Hazrat Mughira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A group from my Ummah will always remain dominant over the people, until when Allah's command comes to them, they will still be dominant."

It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) consulted the noble companions (may Allah be pleased with them) regarding what should be done if a pregnant woman miscarries due to someone. Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had decreed in such a case the payment of a slave man or slave woman. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "If what you say is correct, then present a witness who is aware of this hadith." Upon this, Hazrat Muhammad bin Maslamah (may Allah be pleased with him) testified that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had indeed given this ruling.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I presented myself before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "I wish to marry such-and-such woman." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Go and look at her first, for this will increase love between you." So I went to a woman from the Ansar and sent a proposal to her parents and also conveyed the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Apparently, they did not like it, but the woman heard this from behind the veil and said, "If the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has ordered you to look, then you may look. If you do not do so, then I adjure you by Allah." She considered this matter very significant, so I looked at her and married her. Then he mentioned his agreement with her.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that two women had a fight, and one of them killed the other by striking her with a tent pole. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled that the blood money (diyah) should be paid by the male relatives ('asaba) of the killer, and for the loss of the unborn child in her womb, he ruled for a male or female slave as compensation. A Bedouin said, "You impose compensation on me for a life that neither ate nor drank, neither cried nor moved; such a life is usually overlooked." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This is the kind of rhymed speech Bedouins use, but the ruling remains that for the loss of that child, the compensation is a male or female slave."

O Allah! No one can withhold what You give, and no one can give what You withhold, and the status of any person of status cannot benefit him before You." Waraad says that after this, once I was present in the service of Hazrat Muawiya (may Allah be pleased with him), and I heard him from the pulpit instructing people to say these words; he was teaching these words to the people.

Ali bin Rabi’ah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a certain Ansari named Qarta bin Ka’b passed away and wailing and lamentation began over him. Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) came out of his house, ascended the pulpit, and after praising and glorifying Allah, said: What is this wailing in Islam? I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Lying about me is not like lying about an ordinary person. Beware! Whoever deliberately lies about me should prepare his abode in Hell. Beware! I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The person over whom wailing is done is punished because of that wailing.
Hadith 18141
It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I assisted the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) in performing ablution during a journey. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) washed his face and arms and wiped over his head and his leather socks. I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Should I not remove your socks?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "No, I put them on while I was in a state of ablution, so I did not take them off after that." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the Fajr prayer in this manner.

Aamir says that once, during the forenoon, there was a solar eclipse and the sky became extremely dark. Seeing this, Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and began to lead the people in prayer. He prolonged the standing (qiyam) so much that a surah from the "Mathani" could be recited in it, and he made the bowing (ruku) just as long. After raising his head from ruku, he again performed a bowing of equal length, then after raising his head, he stood for the same duration, and he performed the second rak’ah in the same manner. By that time, the sun had become bright again. Then he completed the prostration and prayer, ascended the pulpit, and said that on the day when the son of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Hazrat Ibrahim, passed away, there was a solar eclipse, and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and delivered a sermon, saying: "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of anyone’s death; they are two of Allah’s signs. Therefore, whenever you see an eclipse of either of them, turn immediately to prayer." After this, he descended from the pulpit and narrated this hadith: When the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was leading the eclipse prayer, during it he began to blow (as if to ward off something) in front of him, then he stretched out his hand as if he wanted to grasp something, and after completing the prayer, he said: "Hell was brought so close to me that I began to blow to ward off its heat from my face. I saw in Hell the man with a stick, the one who invented the custom of letting animals loose in the name of idols, and the Himyari woman who used to tie up a cat." The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.

Therefore, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took both hands out from underneath, and washed his face and hands, wiped his head to the extent of the forehead, wiped over his turban, and wiped over his leather socks, and mounted for the return. When we reached the people, the prayer had already started and Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) had led one rak’ah and was in the second rak’ah. I was about to go and inform him, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped me, and we performed the rak’ah that we caught, and completed what we had missed (after the salam). Once we were on a journey with the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. In the morning, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, knocked on the door of my tent. I understood that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wanted to go to relieve himself, so I set out with him. We kept walking until we were far from the people. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, dismounted from his ride and went to relieve himself and disappeared from my sight; I could no longer see the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. After a short while, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, returned and said, ‘Mughira! You also fulfill your need.’ I said, ‘I do not need to at this time.’ The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, asked, ‘Do you have water?’ I replied, ‘Yes!’ and went to bring the water skin that was hanging at the back of the saddle. I brought the water to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and kept pouring it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, first washed both hands thoroughly, then washed his face.
It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once Hazrat Sa'd bin Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "If I see a strange man with my wife, I will strike his neck with a sword." When this statement reached the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), he said, "Are you amazed at Sa'd's sense of honor? By Allah! I am more possessive than all of you, and Allah is more possessive than I am. Because of this, He has made open and hidden indecencies unlawful. And there is no one more possessive than Allah, and there is no one who loves to accept excuses more than Allah. For this reason, Allah has promised Paradise." The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain. Ubaidullah Qawariyri (may Allah have mercy on him) says that there is no hadith harsher than this one in the view of the Jahmiyyah sect, that there is no one who loves to be praised more than Allah Almighty.
Hadith 18169
Abdullah ibn Ahmad said: 'Ubaydullah al-Qawariri narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, with his chain, the same exactly. Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: 'Ubaydullah al-Qawariri said: There is no hadith more severe upon the Jahmiyyah than this hadith, his saying: "There is no person more beloved to Him for praise than Allah, Mighty and Majestic."
Hadith 18170
Hazrat Mughira (may Allah be pleased with him) says that once I set out on a journey with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). In the morning, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to relieve himself and disappeared from my sight, so I could no longer see the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). After a short while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned, asked for water, and began to roll up his sleeves. However, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a Syrian cloak, and its sleeves were tight, so they could not be rolled up. Therefore, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took both hands out from underneath, washed his face and hands, wiped his head, and wiped over his socks. The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain.
Hadith 18171
Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Amr narrated to us, from Abu Salamah, from al-Mughira ibn Shu'bah, who said: I was with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on one of his journeys, and when he went, he would go far in his going, so he went to relieve himself, and he said: "O Mughira, follow me with water," and he mentioned the hadith.
Hadith 18172
It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted from his ride and went to relieve himself. After a short while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, “Do you have water?” I presented water to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and kept pouring it. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first washed both hands thoroughly, then washed his face. After that, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to roll up his sleeves from his arms, but the Syrian cloak that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing had tight sleeves, so they could not be rolled up. Therefore, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took both hands out from underneath, and washed his face and hands, wiped over the amount of his forehead on his head, wiped over his turban, and wiped over his leather socks, and then mounted for the return. When we reached the people, the prayer had already started and Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) had led one rak’ah and was in the second rak’ah. I started to go to inform him, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped me, and we performed the rak’ah that we caught, and completed what we had missed (after the salam).
Hadith 18173
Shu’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in prayer. After completing two rak’ahs, he did not sit but stood up. The followers said “Subhan Allah,” but he gestured to them to stand up. When the prayer was finished, he said salam and performed two prostrations of forgetfulness, and said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to do the same.
