It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dismounted from his ride and went to relieve himself. After a short while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, “Do you have water?” I presented water to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and kept pouring it. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) first washed both hands thoroughly, then washed his face. After that, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to roll up the sleeves of his arms, but the Syrian cloak that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing had tight sleeves, so they could not be rolled up. Therefore, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took both hands out from underneath, and washed his face and hands, wiped his head up to the extent of the forehead, wiped over his turban, and wiped over his leather socks, and then mounted for the return. When we reached the people, the prayer had already started, and Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) had led one rak’ah and was in the second rak’ah. He began to step back, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) signaled to him to complete the prayer, and after finishing the prayer, said, “You did well, do like this.”

It is narrated from Hazrat Mughirah (may Allah be pleased with him) that two women had a fight, and one of them killed the other by striking her with a tent pole. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) ruled that the blood money (diyah) should be paid by the male relatives ('asaba) of the killer, and for the loss of the unborn child in her womb, he ruled for a male or female slave as compensation. A Bedouin said, "You impose compensation on me for a life that neither ate nor drank, neither cried nor moved; such a life is usually overlooked." The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This is the kind of rhymed speech Bedouins use, but the ruling remains that for the loss of that child, the compensation is a male or female slave."
