حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مَرْيَمَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْمُلْكُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ ، وَالْقَضَاءُ فِي الْأَنْصَارِ ، وَالْأَذَانُ فِي الْحَبَشَةِ ، وَالسُّرْعَةُ فِي الْيَمَن " وَقَالَ زَيْدٌ مَرَّةً يَحْفَظُهُ : " وَالْأَمَانَةُ فِي الْأَزْدِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The capability for leadership is in the Quraysh, the capability for judiciary is in the Ansar, the capability for calling to prayer is in the Abyssinians, and swiftness is in the people of Yemen. (The narrator of the hadith, Zaid, once also said that trustworthiness is in the people of Azd.)
