It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw phlegm stuck towards the qiblah in the mosque, so he cleaned it with a stone or something similar and said: When any one of you stands to pray, he should not spit in front of him or to his right side, because there is an angel on his right side. Rather, he should spit to his left side or towards his feet.
