(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تُسْتَأْمَرُ الْيَتِيمَةُ فِي نَفْسِهَا ، فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ ، فَهُوَ إِذْنُهَا ، وَإِنْ أَبَتْ ، فَلَا جَوَازَ عَلَيْهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The permission of a virgin, adult girl will be sought regarding her marriage; if she remains silent, then this will be considered as her permission, and if she refuses, then there is no justification for forcing her.
