Hadith 7029

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ مِنْ أَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ أَنْ يَلْعَنَ الرَّجُلُ وَالِدَيْهِ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَكَيْفَ يَلْعَنُ الرَّجُلُ أَبَوَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ : " يَسُبُّ الرَّجُلُ الرَّجُلَ ، فَيَسُبُّ أَبَاهُ ، وَيَسُبُّ الرَّجُلُ أُمَّهُ ، فَيَسُبُّ أُمَّهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "One of the major sins is that a man abuses his parents." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah! How can a man abuse his parents?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He abuses another man's father, and that man in return abuses his father; similarly, he abuses another man's mother, and that man in return abuses his mother."
