Hadith 6419

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَسَاهُ حُلَّةً ، فَلَبِسَهَا " ، فَرَآهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " فَذَكَرَ أَسْفَلَ مِنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ ، وَذَكَرَ النَّارَ ، حَتَّى ذَكَرَ قَوْلًا شَدِيدًا فِي إِسْبَالِ الْإِزَارِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, gave him a silk garment, and it began to hang below his ankles. So the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, spoke harshly about this and mentioned Hell.
