Hadith 639

Abdullah bin Salamah says that I was present with a man in the company of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him). He said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would come out after relieving himself and start reciting the Noble Qur'an without performing ablution. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would also eat meat with us, and nothing except major ritual impurity (janabah) would prevent him from reciting the Qur'an.
