Hadith 587

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، أَنْبَأَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ شَهِدْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ ، بَدَأَ بِالصَّلَاةِ قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ ، وَصَلَّى بِلَا أَذَانٍ وَلَا إِقَامَةٍ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " ينْهَى أَنْ يُمْسِكَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ نُسُكِهِ شَيْئًا فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ " .
Abu Ubaid says that... Once on the day of Eid, I was present in the service of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he led the prayer before the sermon, and neither adhan nor iqamah was said, and he said that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbidding keeping the meat of sacrifice with oneself for more than three days.
