Hadith 4430

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ ضَرَبَ الْخُدُودَ ، وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ ، أَوْ دَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ " . قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ : وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَدْ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, tears his collar, and calls with the call of ignorance."
