Abdur Rahman bin Abis (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying that if it were not for my connection with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), due to my childhood I would never have been present on that occasion, and he said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came and led the Eid prayer of two rak‘ahs near the house of Kathir bin As-Salt, then delivered the sermon and commanded charity. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) did not mention anything about adhan or iqamah in it.
