حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ , وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , عَنْ بُدَيْلِ بْنِ مَيْسَرَةَ , عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ شَيْبَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ وَلَدِ شَيْبَةَ , أَنَّهَا أَبْصَرَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَسْعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ , يَقُولُ : " لَا يُقْطَعُ الْأَبْطَحُ إِلَّا شَدًّا " .
It is narrated from the mother of the children of Shaibah bin Uthman that she saw the Prophet (peace be upon him) walking between Safa and Marwah, and he was saying that the place of Abtah should only be crossed by running.
