حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَنَّهَا أَرْسَلَتْ هِيَ وَأَزْوَاجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى أَهْلِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَنْ مُرُّوا بِهِ عَلَيْنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ أَزْوَاجُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَأَنْكَرَ ذَلِكَ النَّاسُ ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِعَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ : " أَلَا تَعْجَبُونَ مِنَ النَّاسِ حِينَ يُنْكِرُونَ هَذَا ، فَوَاللَّهِ مَا صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى سَهْلِ بْنِ بَيْضَاءَ إِلَّا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ " .
Ubad bin Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas passed away, Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered that his funeral be brought past her. Due to the funeral coming into the mosque, there was some inconvenience. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) prayed for Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him). Some people objected to this. When Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) found out, she said, “People are quick to make remarks. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) himself offered the funeral prayer of Suhail bin Bayda in the mosque.”
