A freed slave of Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who used to drive Hazrat Aisha’s (may Allah be pleased with her) mount from the front, says that whenever Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) would hear the sound of a bell coming from ahead, she would say to him, “Stop,” and would wait until the sound stopped. And if she saw it, she would say, “Take me away quickly, so that I do not hear its sound.” And she used to say that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “The jinn are subject to it.”
