حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، قالَ : حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : " مُرْنَ أَزْوَاجَكُنَّ أَنْ يَغْسِلُوا عَنْهُمْ أَثَرَ الْخَلَاءِ وَالْبَوْلِ ، فَإِنَّا نَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ نَنْهَاهُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَفْعَلُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha that some women from Basra came to her, so she instructed them to perform istinja with water and said, "Instruct your husbands to do the same. We ourselves feel shy to say this, because the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to perform istinja only with water."
