It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting in Masjid al-Haram facing the Black Stone, when suddenly he looked up towards the sky and smiled and said: “May Allah curse the Jews, for fat was made unlawful for them, but they melted it and made oil from it and began to sell it. Indeed, when Allah makes something unlawful for a people to eat, He also makes its price unlawful for them.”
