حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَطَنٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو بُرْدَةَ : قَالَ أَبُو مُوسَى : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تُسْتَأْمَرُ الْيَتِيمَةُ فِي نَفْسِهَا ، فَإِنْ سَكَتَتْ فَقَدْ أَذِنَتْ ، وَإِنْ أَنْكَرَتْ لَمْ تُكْرَهْ " ، قُلْتُ لِيُونُسَ : سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْهُ أَوْ : سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The permission of a mature girl should be sought for her marriage; if she remains silent, it is as if she has given permission, and if she refuses, she should not be forced into that relationship.
