It is narrated from Hazrat Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once an Ansari man came to the Prophet’s court with a pouch of gold that filled his fingers and said, “This is in the way of Allah.” Then Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up and presented something, then Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and the Muhajireen also presented something. I saw that the face of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to shine, and it seemed as if it was made of gold. He said, “Whoever introduces a good practice in Islam, he will have its reward and the reward of those who act upon it after him, without their rewards being diminished in the least. And whoever introduces a bad practice in Islam, he will bear its sin and the sin of those who act upon it after him, without their sins being diminished in the least.”
