حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْجَرِّ الْأَخْضَرِ " . قَالَ : قُلْتُ : الْأَبْيَضُ ؟ ! قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي.
Shaibani (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Ibn Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade nabidh (fermented drink) in green pitchers. I asked him, "What is the ruling regarding white pitchers?" He replied, "I do not know."
