حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَعْنِ بْنِ نَضْلَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيُّ مَدِينِيّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي جَدِّي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ مَعْنِ بْنِ نَضْلَةَ ، عَنْ نَضْلَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيّ ، أَنَّهُ لَقِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَرَّبَيْنَ ، فَهَجَمَ عَلَيْهِ شَوَائِلُ لَهُ ، فَسَقَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ شَرِبَ فَضْلَةَ إِنَاءٍ ، فَامْتَلَأَ بِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَشْرَبُ السَّبْعَةَ فَمَا أَمْتَلِئُ ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يَشْرَبُ فِي مِعًى وَاحِدٍ ، وَإِنَّ الْكَافِرَ يَشْرَبُ فِي سَبْعَةِ أَمْعَاءٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Nazlah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) that he met the Prophet at a place called Mareen. When his pregnant goats or she-camels were gathered near him, he gave milk to the Prophet, and whatever was left, he himself drank, and with that his stomach was filled. He said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Previously, I used to drink seven bowls but would not be satisfied." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "A believer drinks in one intestine, and a disbeliever in seven intestines."
