Hadith 18960

It is narrated from Hazrat Kaysan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he used to trade in wine during the time of the Prophet. Once, he returned from Syria with many jars of wine which he had brought for trade. He presented himself before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have brought very fine wine to you." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Kaysan! That has become forbidden for you behind your back." He asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Can I sell it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Wine has become forbidden, and so has its price." So Hazrat Kaysan returned and, striking the jars with his feet, broke them and spilled the wine.
