حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالاَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجَرْمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَتَبَ كِتَابًا قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِأَلْفَيْ عَامٍ ، فَأَنْزَلَ مِنْهُ آيَتَيْنِ ، فَخَتَمَ بِهِمَا سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ ، فَلَا يُقْرَآنِ فِي دَارٍ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ فَيَقْرَبَهَا الشَّيْطَانُ " . قَالَ عَفَّانُ : فَلَا تُقْرَبَنَّ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty wrote a book two thousand years before the creation of the heavens and the earth, and from it He revealed two verses with which He concluded Surah Al-Baqarah. Therefore, in any house where the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah are recited for three nights, Satan will not come near that house.
