حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ ، حدثنا الشَّعْبِيُّ ، سَمِعَهُ مِنَ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَكُنْتُ إِذَا سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، ظَنَنْتُ أَنْ لَا أَسْمَعَ أَحَدًا عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ فِي الْإِنْسَانِ مُضْغَةً ، إِذَا سَلِمَتْ وَصَحَّتْ ، سَلِمَ سَائِرُ الْجَسَدِ وَصَحَّ ، وَإِذَا سَقِمَتْ سَقِمَ سَائِرُ الْجَسَدِ وَفَسَدَ ، أَلَا وَهِيَ الْقَلْبُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "There is a piece of flesh in the human body; if it is sound and healthy, the whole body remains sound and healthy, and if it becomes diseased, the whole body becomes diseased. Behold! That is the heart."
