It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him), probably as a marfu' hadith, that a man set out on a journey along a forest path. On the way, he took a nap under a tree, and with him was his mount on which his food and drink were placed. When the man woke up, he did not see his mount. He climbed a high hill to look, but did not see the mount. Then he climbed another hill, but still did not see the mount. Then he turned back and suddenly saw his mount, dragging its reins and coming towards him. How happy would he be! But his happiness is not greater than the happiness of Allah when a servant repents before Allah and Allah becomes pleased.
