Hadith 17358

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " عُهْدَةُ الرَّقِيقِ أَرْبَعُ لَيَالٍ " ، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : وَأَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ يَقُولُونَ : ثَلَاثُ لَيَالٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The responsibility for a slave remains for four days.
