Hadith 17318

قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو قَبِيلٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْكِتَابَ وَاللَّبَنَ " ، قَالَ : قِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا بَالُ الْكِتَابِ ؟ قَالَ : " يَتَعَلَّمُهُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ ثُمَّ يُجَادِلُونَ بِهِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا " ، فَقِيلَ : وَمَا بَالُ اللَّبَنِ ؟ قَالَ : " أُنَاسٌ يُحِبُّونَ اللَّبَنَ ، فَيَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْجَمَاعَاتِ وَيَتْرُكُونَ الْجُمُعَاتِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I fear for my Ummah regarding the Book and milk. Someone asked, O Messenger of Allah! (peace and blessings be upon him) What is meant by the danger from the Book? He replied: The hypocrites will learn it and will argue with the believers. Then someone asked, What is meant by the danger from milk? He replied: Some people will be fond of milk, and because of it, they will leave the congregation and will neglect the Friday prayers.
