حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ مَرْثَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْيَزَنِيِّ ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَغْرِبَ وَعَلَيْهِ فَرُّوجُ مِن حَرِيرٍ وَهُوَ الْقَبَاءُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ نَزَعَهُ نَزْعًا عَنِيفًا ، وَقَالَ : " إِنَّ هَذَا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلْمُتَّقِينَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) led us in the Maghrib prayer, and at that time he was wearing a silk cloak. After finishing the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) took it off restlessly and said: "This clothing is not befitting for the God-fearing."
