Hadith 17236

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الْمِنْهَالِ ، سَمِعَ إِيَاسَ بْنَ عَبْدٍ الْمُزَنِيَّ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : لَا تَبِيعُوا الْمَاءَ ، فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى عَنْ بَيْعِ الْمَاءِ " ، لَا يَدْرِي عَمْرٌو أَيَّ مَاءٍ هُوَ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Iyas bin Abd (may Allah be pleased with him) that do not sell water in excess of need, for I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbidding the selling of excess water.
