Hadith 17137

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the case of Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) was such that whenever he heard a command from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) which involved strictness, he would return to his people and convey this message to them. Later, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would grant concession in that matter, but Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) would miss hearing about it, resulting in him adhering to the original strict command.
