حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيِّ ، عَنْ شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، قَالَ : مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَيَّ وَأَنَا أَحْتَجِمُ فِي ثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that once, on the eighteenth night of Ramadan, I was having cupping done when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) passed by me at the place of Baqi’. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “The one who does cupping and the one who gets cupped, both their fasts are broken.”
