Salim Al-Barrad says that once Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said to us, "Shall I not show you how the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray?" Saying this, he pronounced the takbeer, placed both his palms on his knees in ruku', kept the fingers spread apart, and kept his hands away from his stomach, until every limb was settled in its place. Then he raised his head from ruku' and stood up straight, until every limb was settled in its place. Then, saying the takbeer, he performed sajdah and kept his hands away from his stomach. Then he raised his head and sat up straight until every limb was settled in its place. Then he performed the second sajdah, and after praying all four rak'ahs in this manner, he said, "The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray like this."
