It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hakeem bin Hizam that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The upper hand is better than the lower hand, and you should begin charity and almsgiving with those who are under your responsibility. And whoever seeks self-sufficiency, Allah will make him self-sufficient. And whoever seeks to remain chaste, Allah will protect him.
