Hadith 15119

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ , حَدَّثَنَا ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ , أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " عَرْشُ إِبْلِيسَ عَلَى الْبَحْرِ , ثُمَّ يَبْعَثُ سَرَايَاهُ , فَيَفْتِنُونَ النَّاسَ فَأَعْظَمُهُمْ عِنْدَهُ , أَعْظَمُهُمْ فِتْنَةً " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Iblis places his throne upon the water, then he sends out his armies. The one among them who causes the greatest tribulation is the closest to him in rank.
