Hadith 14226

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا تَزَوَّجْتُ ، قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَلْ اتَّخَذْتُمْ أَنْمَاطًا ؟ قَالَ : قُلْتُ : أَنَّى لَنَا أَنْمَاطٌ ؟ قَالَ : " أَمَا إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ " وَأَنَا أَقُولُ لِامْرَأَتِي نَحِّي عَنِّي نَمَطَكِ ، فَتَقُولُ : أَوَلَيْسَ قَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ " ؟ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that when I got married, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked, "Do you have woolen clothes?" I replied, "O Messenger of Allah! How could we have any!" He said, "Soon you will surely get woolen clothes." Now today, when I have received them, I say to my wife, "Keep your woolen clothes with you," but she says, "Did not the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say that you would get woolen clothes?" (Hearing this, I leave her to her own condition.)
