(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ ، حَدَّثَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ بِنْتُ سِيرِينَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ لِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : بِمَ مَاتَ يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ؟ فَقُلْتُ : بِالطَّاعُونِ ، فَقَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الطَّاعُونُ شَهَادَةٌ لِكُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ " .
Hazrat Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) says that Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) asked me, "How did Ibn Abi Umrah pass away?" I replied, "Due to the disease of plague." He said, "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Plague is martyrdom for every Muslim."
