Hadith 12861

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ خَيَّاطًا دَعَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى طَعَامٍ ، فَأَتَاهُ بِطَعَامٍ وَقَدْ جَعَلَهُ بِإِهَالَةٍ سَنِخَةٍ وَقَرْعٍ ، فَرَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتْبَعُ الْقَرْعَ مِنَ الصَّحْفَةِ ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ فَمَا زِلْتُ يُعْجِبُنِي الْقَرْعُ مُنْذُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعْجِبُهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a tailor invited the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to a meal. When he brought the food, it contained old oil and pumpkin. I saw that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was searching for pumpkin in the bowl. From that time, I also began to like pumpkin.
