Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Hassan bin Bilal narrates that I saw Ammar bin Yasir perform ablution and use his fingers to comb through his beard. I asked him about it, and he replied: I saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do this.

Hazrat Abu Wa'il narrates that I saw Hazrat Usman perform ablution and comb through his beard three times. Then he said: I saw the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) do this.

It is narrated about Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to comb his beard with his fingers.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hamza that I saw Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) passing his fingers through his beard.

Hazrat Abu Ma'n says that I saw Hazrat Anas combing his beard with his fingers.

It is narrated about Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he used to comb his beard with his fingers.

Hazrat Abu Ghalib narrates that I saw Abu Umamah performing ablution three times and combing through his beard. And he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) doing this.

Hazrat Anas narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed khilal (passing fingers through) of his beard.

Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Jibreel came to me and said: When you perform ablution, make khilal (pass fingers through) your beard. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa’s opinion has been mentioned that: he did not hold the view of making khilal of the beard.
