Hadith 39206
٣٩٢٠٦ - حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن المبارك عن سعيد بن يزيد قال: سمعت خالد بن أبي عمران يحدث عن حنش عن فضالة بن عبيد قال: أتى (النبي) (١) ﷺ يوم خيبر بقلادة فيها خرز معلقة بذهب ابتاعها رجل بسبعة دنانير، أو بتسعة دنانير، فأتى النبي ﷺ فذكر ذلك له فقال: "لا، حتى (تميز) ما بينهما" (٢)، قال: إنما أردت الحجارة، قال: "لا، حتى (تميز) (٣) ما بينهما"، قال: فرده حتى ميز (٤).
Hazrat Fadala bin Ubaid narrates that on the day of Khaybar, a necklace was brought to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in which pearls were hanging along with gold. A man bought this necklace for seven or nine dinars. Then this necklace was brought to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the matter of its purchase was also mentioned before him. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No! Not until both are separated. Someone asked: Is your intention regarding the stones? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: No! Not until these two are separated. The narrator says he returned the necklace until they were separated.
Hadith 39207
٣٩٢٠٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن محمد بن عبد اللَّه عن أبي قلابة عن أنس قال: أتانا كتاب عمر ونحن بأرض فارس: ألا تبيعوا السيوف فيها حلقة فضة بدرهم (١).
Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that we were in the region of Persia when a letter from Hazrat Umar reached us. Beware, do not sell swords with silver hilts in exchange for dirhams.
Hadith 39208
٣٩٢٠٨ - حدثنا وكيع عن زكريا عن الشعبي قال: سئل شريح عن طوق من ذهب فيه فصوص، قال: تنزع الفصوص ثم (يباع) (١) الذهب وزنا بوزن.
Hazrat Sha'bi says that Shurayh was asked about a gold necklace in which there are also gems? He replied: The gems should be separated, then the gold should be sold equally for equal.
Hadith 39209
٣٩٢٠٩ - حدثنا ابن علية عن أيوب عن محمد كان يكره شراء السيف المحلى إلا بعرض.
It is narrated about Muhammad that he considered it undesirable to sell an adorned (ornamented) sword except in exchange for goods.
Hadith 39210
٣٩٢١٠ - حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن معمر عن الزهري أنه فإن يكره شراء السيف المحلى (بفضة) (١)، ويقول: اشتره بذهب يدا بيد.
It is narrated about Hazrat Zuhri that he considered it disliked to sell an adorned sword in exchange for silver, and he used to say: Buy an adorned sword (one decorated with gold) for gold in cash. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that: There is no harm if a person buys it in exchange for dirhams.
