Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hasan narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade praying between graves.

Hazrat Anas narrates that Hazrat Umar saw me while I was praying near a grave. Hazrat Umar said: O Anas! (Look at) the grave. I raised my head and looked at the moon, so the people said: You are saying "grave."

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) says that one should not offer prayer facing towards the grave.

Hazrat Alaa narrates from his father and from Khaythamah that both of them said: One should not pray facing the wall of a bathhouse, nor in the middle of a graveyard.

Hasan Arni narrates that the whole earth is a mosque (a place of prostration) except for three places: graveyard, bathhouse, and toilet.

It is narrated about Hazrat Anas that he also considered it disliked to perform the funeral prayer in the graveyard.

Ibrahim states that the Companions and the Followers considered it disliked to pray among the graves. And it has been mentioned as the saying of (Imam) Abu Hanifa that: If a person performs prayer (in a graveyard), then this prayer will suffice for him.
