Hadith 39093
It is narrated from Hazrat Sinan bin Salamah that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told him regarding the voluntary sacrificial animal (hady) that it should not be eaten. If it is eaten, compensation must be given.
Hadith 39094
Hazrat Umar says that if a person sends a voluntary sacrificial animal (hadi), and then that animal perishes (before reaching the Haram), he should slaughter it before reaching the Haram and should not eat from it. If he eats from it, then a substitute is obligatory upon him.
Hadith 39095
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent ten sacrificial camels with a man and instructed him regarding them. The man went away. Then he returned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked, "If any of these animals becomes unfit (for sacrifice), what should be done?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Slaughter it, then dip its foot in its blood, then strike it on its skin. Neither you nor any of your companions should eat from it."
Hadith 39096
Hazrat Najiyah Khuzai narrates that I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! If a sacrificial animal becomes defective, what should we do with it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Slaughter it, and dip its feet in its blood. Then leave this animal for the people so that they may eat it." And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion is mentioned that: The families of the companions may eat from this animal.
