Hadith 38999
٣٨٩٩٩ - حدثنا وكيع عن مالك بن أنس عن عبد اللَّه بن يزيد عن زيد (أبي عياش) (١) قال: سألت سعدا عن السُّلْتِ بالذرة فكرهه، وقال سعد: سئل ⦗٢٦٣⦘ النبي ﷺ عن الرطب بالتمر فقال: "أينقص إذا (جف؟) (٢) " قلنا: نعم، قال: فنهى عنه (٣).
Hazrat Zaid Abu Ayyash narrates that I asked Hazrat Sa’d about exchanging barley for corn, and he considered it disliked. And Hazrat Sa’d said: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about exchanging fresh dates for dried dates, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do dates become less (lighter) when they dry? We replied: Yes! So he (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade it.
Hadith 39000
٣٩٠٠٠ - (حدثنا) (١) أبو داود عن زائدة عن سماك عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس أنه كره الرطب بالتمر وقال: هو أقلهما في المكيال أو في القفيز (٢).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that he considered it disliked to exchange dates for dried dates, and he said that these (dates) are less in measure or in the container.
Hadith 39001
٣٩٠٠١ - حدثنا ابن أبي زائدة عن عبيد اللَّه عن نافع عن ابن عمر أن النبي ﷺ نهى عن بيع العنب بالزبيب كيلا (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade exchanging grapes for raisins by measure.
Hadith 39002
٣٩٠٠٢ - حدثنا أبو الأحوص عن طارق عن سعيد بن المسيب أنه كره الرطب بالتمر مثلا بمثل، وقال: الرطب (منتفخ) (١)، والتمر ضامر.
It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib that he considered it disliked to exchange dates for dried dates in equal measure, and he used to say that dates are swollen while dried dates are shriveled. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa's opinion has been mentioned that: there is no harm in it.
