Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that some people from ‘Uraina came to Madinah. The climate of Madinah did not suit them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to them: If you wish, you may go to the camels given in charity and drink their milk and urine.

It is narrated from Hazrat Anas that eight people from the tribe of ‘Ukl came to the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and pledged allegiance to Islam. The climate of Madinah did not suit them and their bodies became ill, so they complained to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Will you not go with our shepherd to his camels so that you may drink the milk and urine of the camels?” They said: “Why not!” So those people went and drank the milk and urine of the camels. And (Imam) Abu Hanifa’s opinion has been mentioned that: he considered the urine of camels to be disliked (makruh).
